Scott Ian is an American musician, best known as the rhythm guitarist, primary lyricist, and co-founder of the thrash metal band Anthrax. As the sole continuous member of the band since 1981, he was crucial in pioneering the thrash genre and bridging it with punk and hip-hop. He also plays in Stormtroopers of Death, The Damned Things, and Mr. Bungle.
