Michael Traynor is an actor and writer, most recognizable as playing what The New York Times describes as 'the loathsome coward' Nicholas, on AMC's The Walking Dead . Born in Florida, and raised on Maui, Michael moved to New York City to study acting with famed film director, Mike Nichols, and improv legend, Paul Sills. He then went on to work with The Public Theater and Drama League in NYC, and Rogue Machine Theatre in Los Angeles. In addition to The Walking Dead , Michael played 'George Melton' on Sundance Channel's Peabody Award winning drama, Rectify , and can be seen as 'Craig' on ABC Family's groundbreaking show, The Fosters . His feature film work includes Sundance Film Festival favorite, Cry Funny Happy , and AFI Audience Award winner, A Necessary Death . His more mainstream fare includes Homefront , A Perfect Getaway and the title character in the slasher/horror pic, Smiley . His sketch and stand-up writing has been showcased at The Improv (Hollywood), The Ice House, The Comedy Cellar, The Second City and Upright Citizens Brigade, and he has written for award winning video game titles such as Area 51 . Underwater , an independent half-hour comedy pilot starring Rachel Nichols, Barry Bostwick and Brooke Nevin, that he wrote and produced, won Best Writer Award at The ITV Festival.

He currently resides in Los Angeles, and is probably walking his dog.
